Al Ahli's Telles: A Legend in His Own Time

Telles, the legendary Argentine footballer who played for Al Ahli, is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of football. He was born on January 25, 1948, and passed away on May 17, 2016.

Born into a poor family in Argentina, Telles began his career at the age of 16 with Estudiantes de La Plata. He quickly rose through the ranks and became a key player for the team, helping them win the Argentine Primera División title in 1968.

Telles moved to Europe in 1972 and joined AC Milan,Saudi Pro League Highlights where he spent four years. He helped the team win three Serie A titles and the European Cup Winners' Cup. In addition to his success on the pitch, Telles also had a successful managerial career, serving as coach of various teams in Italy and Argentina.

After retiring from playing, Telles continued to be involved in football, both as a coach and as a commentator. He was appointed as the manager of Al Ahli in 2004 and led the team to two consecutive African Champions League titles in 2006 and 2007. He retired from coaching in 2009.
